My Little Melbourne

Hi there :) This is the beginning of our Coffee Heist journey and our first destination is Melbourne. But no worries, to have a delicious coffee you dont't have to fly far, far away till Australia (though we would love to), but to take a walk towards Deák Ferenc square and turn to a little street called Madách Imre. Here you can discover a little piece of the World of Kangaroos and Uggs and find yourself in a cozy, tiny place called My Little Melbourne. 

Why Melbourne? The owner of the place has personal relation with Australia and when visiting his relatives he felt in love with the country's unmatched Coffee culture. Being amazed with the professionalism and the special feeling when drinking a coffee, the aim was to establish this lacking magic in our country. This was achieved by selecting the finest Italian coffee, Danesi, and buying a coffee making machine that is inevitable to make the perfect one. This machine is the only one in the country, and combined with the expertise and passion of the nice baristas, it results a cup of magic. However, the place would not be so welcoming without its accurately designed  atmosphere revealing a feeling of calmness and Australia. This feeling is evoked by the interior design and placing all those little gadgets that are small pieces of memories from Australia. Although, the tininess greatly contributes to the homelike feeling of the place, it feels a little bit tense and the upper floor seems to get less attention in design and interior ideas. We are very curious about the terrace that will open when the weather turns sunny and more springy :)

My Little Melbourne is a place that would definitely detach you from the everyday rush and calm you down with a professionally prepared cup of coffee and a soft chocolate croissant. You can choose from a variety of classic coffees and also some specialties from Australia. Besides the wide variety of bakery, you can have a sandwich, ham and eggs, fruits, cookies, muffins, yoghurt with cereals or fresh salad. If you don’t feel like having a coffee, you can also chose a tea (Teapigs, Petra's favorite), Australian beer, or bottled juice. The prices are not surprising, they are similar to any other cafeterias in the area. We paid 900 HUF for a chocolate croissant and a latte.  

Now a little bit about the taste of the coffee... After hesitating a few minutes which one to choose, we went for the classic latte, to compare with our previous coffee experiences. The appearance of the hot coffee, with a little heart on it convinced us that My Little Melbourne is a good choice. Having the first sip, we felt the creamy steamed milk and could taste that we are drinking a coffee made of fine and high quality ingredients. Though, we were missing the little cookie coming by and the esthetic part of serving, we could easily forget this by being amazed with the surrounding and the taste.   

Overall, My Little Melbourne is definitely a good place to grab a morning coffee, have a talk with a friend or to write a blog post. The catchy atmosphere and the well deserved coffee offers a couple of minutes of calm, however the place also accommodates to our busy lifestyle by offering takeaway coffee and free wifi.
